Our responsibility

CBR's business activities impact people and the environment in various countries. We stand by our social and environmental environmental responsibility.

As part of the international fashion industry, we want to make our contribution to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris climate goals. That is why we are committed to fair working conditions and respectful use of our earth's resources.

We are committed to all three areas of sustainability: environmental, social and responsible corporate governance (ESG). Step by step, we continue to develop our business processes and make them more sustainable. Our goal: economic success in social and ecological responsibility!

Environment and resource consumption

To reduce our environmental impact, we work to reduce our consumption and choose the materials for our items carefully.

Material

In summer 2021, we introduced the For People and Planet (P&P) label to the market for more sustainable products. The P&P items are made from fibres that have a lower environmental impact, such as organic cotton or recycled polyester. In 2022, the share of more sustainable items was 18%. We want to increase this further in 2023 and continue to improve in subsequent years.

Resources

We are working to reduce our consumption. For example, a large part of our production has been relocated from Asia to Turkey in recent years and we use green electricity for all our retail spaces. Likewise, the packaging of our individual garments is made from 100% recycled plastic.

Social and supply chain

Textile production today takes place in countries where the same working conditions and social standards do not apply as in Europe.

Every collaboration with CBR is based on our CODE OF CONDUCT. It applies worldwide and obliges our partners to respect human and environmental rights and to comply with applicable laws and standards, such as the conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the United Nations. We regularly have compliance with our requirements checked by audits carried out by the independent service provider ELEVATE.

Responsible corporate governance

Compliance with the applicable laws is a matter of course for CBR. Information about possible violations can be communicated anonymously via our CBR Fashion SpeakUp Line. This is available in 70 languages and can be reached at any time via the internet, app and telephone.

In the area of CSR, we are working intensively on constantly expanding our knowledge about our supply chain. We are working with external partners to create digital solutions for reliable data.
